Jasprit Bumrah is probably one of the best death bowlers in the world. His experience in restricting batters to low scores towards the end of an innings is one that is appreciated by fans all over the world. Despite this, Pakistan captain Babar Azam wouldn’t pick him if he had to defend 10 runs.
Recently Babar Azam featured on the podcast “Off Topic,” just days after being announced as the Pakistan captain. Azam talked in detail about his cricket career, his journey, the work he put in and much more. Toward the end of the episode, he was asked various questions.
In one of them, he was asked who he would pick to defend 10 runs in the final over. His options were Indian superstar Jasprit Bumrah and Pakistani speedster, Naseem Shah. The Pakistani captain picked his teammate without any hesitation.

On 7th April, Jasprit Bumrah created history by becoming the first Indian bowler to pick up 150 wickets for a single franchise. Indian bowlers like Harbhajan Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Piyush Chawla, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja have taken 150 IPL wickets, but never for a single team.
His 149th wicket was of Prithvi Shaw. He bowled an excellent toe-crushing yorker to dismiss the opener, who had already hit 66 runs. His 150th scalp was Abhishek Porel, who he dismissed in his 3rd over. He finished his spell with figures of 4-0-22-2.
Mumbai Indians play their next match at home against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Both teams have won only one match so far, and are at the bottom three of the points table. Both teams have negative NRR as well (MI has -0.704 and RCB has -0.843).
