The Jacksonville Jaguars have reportedly hired Cory Robinson as cornerbacks coach for the 2024 season following his one-year stint with the Tennessee Volunteers as an analyst. Jacksonville parted ways with multiple assistants, including defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell, after the team fizzled to end the year and missed the playoffs despite a 9-8 record. Robinson has coached both in the NFL and in the collegiate ranks for almost a decade.
Prior to joining Josh Heupel’s staff for the 2023 season, Robinson spent three seasons as assistant defensive backs coach for the New Orleans Saints. A former starting cornerback at Central Connecticut State, he has mainly worked with players in the secondary. He’s also served as a passing game coordinator at Rutgers and Maryland after coaching cornerbacks at Temple and Toledo.
Robinson’s coaching career began at the high school level. He was a coach at Calvert Hall (Baltimore, Md.) High School from 2009 to 13 and St. Frances (Baltimore, Md.) High School in 2014.
